Unfortunately, no “coffee to go”

After a long walk in the beautiful adjacent "Witte Venn" nature reserve, we discovered the sale of the hair mill outside the home. Delicious delicacies were sold in a side window of the country inn. We took a nice country bread, a jar of honey from Buurse and a jar of red fig mustard sauce. It was really worth it! The bread was super fresh, the summer honey nice and aromatic and the fig mustard sauce, a poem !!!! We'll be back for sure ;-)

Good food, good atmosphere and cozy!

This beautiful excursion destination is located near the Dutch border, in the heart of the Münsterland. The hair mill is worth a visit at any time of the year. Family-friendly gastronomy with reasonable prices, heavily frequented on weekends. Cross-border walks are inviting. Suitable for all kinds of celebrations. An interesting address as a photographer.

Also during corona lock down this excellent restaurant with delicious apple pie & coffee opened a window for take away. Nice friendly helpfull employees. Keep up the good work.

Nice start and end point for a walk. Het Witte Veen is a beautiful area with Scottish Highlanders, many mushrooms and a boardwalk.Tip: get out early at the weekend because of the crowds. Because the catering industry is (still) closed, you can buy "to go" coffee and sandwiches. And even mulled wine. Only on weekends from 10 a.m.

The restaurant with a beautiful terrace is located in a wooded area. You can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner. Reservations are recommended.

Nice place with authentic revolving watermill. It can be busy on busy days and the winding road is quite narrow.

A beautiful area for walking. There are several routes. The restaurant is cozy and has a "gutbürgeliche" kitchen. I will definitely come back to it.

There was plenty of very good food! We celebrated the wedding of relatives on a smaller scale (Corona) and it was really nice. The staff were super friendly and present all the time, which is why we didn't miss anything! We would love to come back!

Everything is tried to make the stay as pleasant for the guest as possible. Only ... CORONA ... does not seem to exist in Ahaus: - (... the increasing number of cases in the district speak a different language. Difficult times ... For a visit / a big celebration everyone has to check themselves * beforehand!

Beautifully decorated restaurant, good food for a nice price. We had a plate with the 4 of us but found quite a lot of vegetables on it, otherwise it was a big 5 stars

Relax after a nice walk in the beautiful surroundings (or without a walk). Friendly staff who speak both Dutch and German. The operation is not as fast as people in the Netherlands are used to, but certainly not slow and to be honest, that is not really a priority in such an environment. The meals and desserts, on the other hand, are of the highest quality for the price, as one would expect from such an establishment.

Unfortunately very crowded and the guests didn't pay much attention to their distance. They had a yard sale outside. The tasting bites were open on the table and tens of people leaned over to look, touch and eat. Pure hygiene☹️🤒

Great location. Relatives invited us. The service was extremely friendly and very dedicated. Eat delicious and very cozy inside when the weather is not so nice outside. The mill can be visited and there is a lot on offer for children. Destination is perfect!

Lovely and cozy terrace and fine service, ordered a "Meerfruchte Salat" but it was a little seafood salad, the Lidl's meal salad offers more. Reported them to this but there was prob. another cook. Unfortunately, a dish of fish did not follow. Otherwise quite nice, so indicate when ordering: Meer- and not weenig.

Super spot. Very nice terrace and good food. Here you can eat out Corona-proof.

Very nice location, big playgrounf, visit the old watermill or row along the stream. Choice of food is ok, for my taste a tad salty.

Somehow the food is not what it was before Corona. It's like they are serving just a tad less while charging the same. And it's not just the quantity, it's like they are reducing the number of ingredients.

Nice cozy inn that invites you to linger after a hike or shop. There are plenty of parking spaces nearby. In summer there is the possibility to eat outside or inside. The service is attentive and nice. The decor, especially in winter by the fireplace, was very, very cozy. The food is delicious and the portion size is also good. If you want to organize your own celebration, you can do so in the appropriate ballroom.

Atmosphere is wonderful in restaurant using old private house!!!!! The food is also delicious. The black bread baked there is very delicious!!!

Food was nice and warm, even though it takes long because the place is really crowded especially during summer but service isn't the best. We had our table full of glasses and bottles for two rounds and they didn't remove them. Everything else is enjoyable.

Great for a rest on a long bike tour. Tends to be very crowdy on summer afternoons.

Great surroundings and wonderful terrace with cold/hot beverages and snacks or meals. Hiking, rowing, scenery tour, all available. 👌

Best filet mignon ever

Excellent place to rest, or starting point of hikes or bike rides. The border with the Netherlands is only a few meters away. Especially beautiful, the old grown trees. The menu is rich. The service is well organized and professional. Everything here is great!

Lovely farm-style restaurant. Good food, nice staff. Beautiful environment with forest and old water-wheel.

Cosy place at a river, in the middle of nature

I come here with my son at least once every six weeks. We usually go for a walk in the surrounding woods and the nature reserve 'De Witte Veen' and then have a good meal in the restaurant, or outside on the cosy terrace. For children there is a large playground with a surrounding terrace where their parents can relax and keep an eye on them. It is often crowded, but the staff is always friendly and the food is fine.

Love this place. Staff is very friendly, and the dishes are top-notch. Worth the drive, every time.
